The airport is located just 12 kilometers northeast of the capital, and Madrid's excellent transport system allows visitors to get around the city quickly and safely by bus, metro, train, or taxi. 

Madrid is also well connected by rail to Spain's major towns and cities, as well as to Portugal and France, giving delegates traveling from across Europe a convenient alternative to flying.
