1. Inclusive and transparent
 
Whether it be for health, religious, moral, or other motivations, your attendees should not be penalized for their individual dietary requirements or preferences. By catering to all their attendees' needs, planners show that they care about their health and well-being and that they value loyalty above the extra effort that may come with personalization. Additionally, guests want to know what ingredients are included and where the food originated so they can make educated choices.

2. Authentic and memorable 
 
Today's attendees want more than just food, they are looking for experiences; the type of experiences that they can photograph to share on social media. F&B can become one of the key talking points or the excitement factor of your event when done right. They are also looking for something uniquely local to experience as they crave a greater sense of connection. Adding local flavor to an event will make it more memorable but you can also use this in marketing your event.  
 
3. Sustainable  
 
With F&B being one of the heaviest event components when it comes to the carbon footprint of your meetings, after travel, as an event professional you need to champion sustainable F&B practices. For instance, work with chefs and venues to source seasonal and local items for as much of the menu as possible. Every little bit helps.
