The Radisson Blu Hotel Hamburg was also recently featured by the lovers of those iconic plastic building blocks. The hotel was presented on March 17th as a 1:270 scale LEGO model as part of the "Floating Bricks" exhibition held in Hamburg's Altona Cruise Centre. After visiting the green heart of the city, one of the contributors, Tim Knickrehm, decided to recreate the city's Radisson Blu hotel. He built his LEGO version in three weeks. The nine segments of the listed building, which are pressed against each other, presented a particular challenge, he said: "The hotel is different from normal skyscrapers, and due to the adjoining panels it is unlike many constructions that make use of LEGO. The facade elements on the front and back were very tricky to construct and it was difficult trying to make the model stable." We think he did a pretty fantastic job at representing the highest hotel in the city!
