Standing just across the road from Lime Street Station and the Radisson RED Liverpool is St George's Hall. With its neoclassical Greco-Roman pillars cut off by the acropolis-esque roof, the Grade I-listed building is the home of comedy, music, theatre and much more. There are few buildings that look more grandioso than the Liverpool Town Hall. Built in 1754, it's one of the oldest civic buildings in the country to still survive in its original incarnation, despite minor works in 1802. The streets around the building originally obscured most of the brilliant building and, as Liverpool entered vast development in the 60s and 70s, old derelicts were removed to leave the town hall standing tall (and a bit wonky!).

A fabulous window into the generous nature of the Liverpudlian locals, the Royal Liver Building is simply the definition of 'iconic'. The two Liver Birds that sit atop the building are steeped in folklore, telling us that if they were to fly away the city would cease to exist. There's no Liverpool without the Royal Liver Building!
