Brussels, the most Instagrammable city in Europe?

Seeing Brussels for the first time is most definitely a ‘wow’ experience. From the Royal Palace, to the Grand Place known as the most beautiful square in Europe in part down to its stunning architecture, Brussels offers plenty for those looking to feed their Instagram profile with some stunning shots. Even the slightest glance at photographer Sébastien Nagy’s work will make you want to book the next flight to Brussels. So, we’ve asked Sébastien to take us on a tour of his favorite city through his most stunning photos - read on!

Capturing the heart of Europe from a whole new angle

As a true Bruxellois, Sébastien knows Brussels like the back of his hand. But it’s only in the past few years that he’s really started exploring the city through his camera lens. Nagy says he discovered his passion for photography on a trip to Switzerland. Then, little by little, he started snapping shots of his own city. That’s when he started to really develop his own urban style and started taking shots of the city from high vantage points.

Aerial photography: seeing what others can’t see

The only way to get some of these shots is through use of a drone or by climbing skyscrapers. Luckily, Sébastien isn't afraid of heights! Whenever he gets the rare opportunity, he musters the courage that many wouldn't have, to go sky-high and take some rather vertiginous shots of the city. This view is simply stunning!

The art of perfecting travel photography

Does one travel to take the best photos? Or does one take photos to travel? Whichever way you look at it, Nagy’s passion for photography and travel go hand in hand. Having made several trips to photograph the most picturesque urban locations, Nagy has perfected his process to make the best of his time on site. Before each trip, he combs the web (Instagram, Google Maps, reviews, etc.) to find the very best spots, planning his itinerary for each day. But sometimes, he admits, the best way to discover a city’s hidden gems is to simply wander and embrace the unexpected.

Stay in the city center at Radisson Collection Hotel, Grand Place Brussels for ease of access to the city's most beautiful spots. Take a leisurely stroll to the Grand Place, passing through the impressive Galeries Royales, or take a break from the camera and take in some art at the Magritte Museum, just a short walk from the hotel.

Brussels as an open door to exploring the rest of the world
