Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and first two Saturdays of each month between 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm, guests can enjoy a free introduction to rare and original artifacts and ship diaries, that reveal incredible stories from the past, as presented by one of the SS Great Britain's professional ship curators.

Flash, Bang, Wallop! at the Dockyard Museum

As a part of the admission's packet, guests will experience a sort of trip back in time and around the world in the Melbourne photographic studio. Dressed in stovepipe hats, bonnets and crinolines, these Victorian-style pictures are a great souvenir of your visit.

Discovery Talks aboard Brunel's SS Great Britain

Find out what life was like onboard the SS Great Britain for passengers and crew, with volunteer led talks. Discover what the Victorians did for work and play; find out about the tasks they performed, what living conditions were and what they did with their free time.

Could you have sailed the seven seas?

Step into the shoes of a Victorian sailor and climb the huge mainmast of the SS Great Britain. Although you will have the benefit of a being strapped into a harness, be prepared to take on the challenge of ascending the rigging to a viewing platform over 25-meters above ground level. When you get to the top of the mast, the more adventurous swashbuckler in you will consider stepping out even further, nine-meters out across the ship below will add another element to your adventure.
