Situated in the Bjørvika neighborhood of central Oslo, on the Oslo Fjord, the Oslo Opera House is just next to the MUNCH Museum. This iconic building is known for its unique, contemporary architecture. The well-photographed opera house combines angled concrete with tall glass windows, creating a unique effect when the sun hits the building or reflects off the water and its angular architecture gives the illusion that the building is emerging from the depths of the fjord. The architectural firm Snøhetta behind this landmark wanted to create an accessible public space in Oslo's city center.
