Shining the spotlight on our meeting and events specialists

Many of our meetings and event sales experts started their journey with us working on the property, giving them the inside scoop on how our hotels work and the nitty-gritty of delivering events. Daisy Halsall, Senior Cluster Meetings and Events Consultant, is responsible for ten UK properties and is based out of Radisson Blu Hotel, Manchester Airport where she previously worked as a meeting and events coordinator. 'Having that experience of working on the property means we understand what different people at the hotel do, and how the hotels run and work in general. So, when we're talking to clients it helps us to guide their decisions as we understand whether their ideas or requests will work and can make suggestions to help elevate their guest experience,' she explains. 

For example, for a product launch event for an iconic British fragrance and beauty brand, Daisy suggested taking out the usual products from the hotel's bedrooms and replacing them with the brand's new range of shower gels so that the attendees were introduced to the products at the event and then got to try them in their rooms, enhancing the overall brand experience. 'While we don't deliver the events, we work closely with the client from the initial point of inquiry, assist them with meetings or show rounds and anything else they might need, before handing them over to the on-site team. I always try and follow up with clients after the event too. This means we build up a good rapport and relationship with our clients, which helps with repeat business,' she says.
