From Intern to Manager in Dubai: Bao’s Inspiring Journey with Radisson Hotel Group

During my first few months as an intern, I realized how much of what I studied aligned with real-world practices at Radisson. Seeing the impact of hospitality operations on a global scale was fascinating and reinforced my passion for the industry.

Radisson embraces a culture of ownership, which for me meant I was entrusted with meaningful work from day one. For instance, as an intern, I was responsible for refining the post-stay survey sent to guests across hundreds of hotels. This required collaborating across departments, which allowed me to gain invaluable experience.

Equally important was the support of my managers. Throughout my journey, I was fortunate enough to work with leaders who trusted me, encouraged me, and provided opportunities to explore different projects. Their mentorship played a crucial role in my growth.

One of the most valuable aspects of my career at Radisson has been the encouragement to take on new challenges. I never hesitated to work on different projects and constantly sought learning opportunities. I also made it known in Workfront that I was open to relocating.

Over the years, I have built expertise in quality management and developed strong relationships with hotel and area colleagues. When the right opportunity arose, my manager recognized my readiness, which led to my promotion. This highlights the importance of staying proactive, engaged, and open to change.

On a personal level, I am excited about the sunshine! Having spent years studying and working in Europe, I look forward to experiencing a completely different lifestyle. I don’t have a set plan yet, but I’m eager to immerse myself in the dynamic environment of Dubai, meet new people, and learn from their stories. New experiences always open doors to unexpected opportunities.

From a corporate perspective, being closer to hotels will allow me to apply what I’ve learned in the corporate office—analyzing KPIs, guest feedback, and quality metrics—directly to hotel operations. I’m eager to contribute to enhancing hotel quality firsthand.
