Cicchetti bars

It is often said that there is no better way to a person's heart than through delicious food; so, if you are wondering what to do in Venice, Italy to get a real feel of the city's ambience, now is the time to embark on your own Cicchetti bar adventure, just steps from our hotel in the up-and-coming Venetian Ghetto. Indulge in the Venetian answer to Spanish tapas, ranging from salami to anchovies and vegetarian options, among others, and enjoy the city like a local on a beautiful day or evening. For the full experience, sit by the canal or take a canal boat to bar hop your way around this medieval neighborhood.

Burano Island

You simply cannot say you have enjoyed the best of Venice experiences without spending some time wandering about the quaint colorful houses in Burano, the perfect spot to take a few Instagrammable photos. Step onto a water boat, located close to our hotel, and find yourself on the island famed for its elaborate lace patterns. Once you are done photo shooting, head to Piazza Galuppi, Burano's main square, where you can sip on a delicious espresso.

If you are a fan of all things lace, head to the Burano Museum of Lace, where you can learn all about how the detailed artisanal Venetian lace, some of which is handmade, became a status symbol for the rich and mighty.

Murano Island

For another treat to the eyes and yet another way to celebrate art in Venice, Italy, make sure you spend a day at Vetreria Venier Murano on Murano Island. Here is your chance to sit back and enjoy watching the real glass masters at work; from stunning vases, sculptures, glassware, jewelry, chandeliers, miniatures, to bigger pieces to adorn your home, you will indeed feel spoiled for choice when picking a gift for your loved ones or a treat for yourself. A small piece of advice – there are many fake Murano glass products sold in the main city of Venice so, to avoid disappointment, make sure you are given a certificate of authenticity when you complete your purchase.

Brion Tomb

For a trip outside the walls of this world-famous Italian city to an out-of-the-ordinary masterpiece of modernist architecture and art, head to Tomba Brion, as it's known in Italian. With the great Carlo Scarpa as its passionate architect, and located in the northern village of San Vito d’Altivole, this recently restored in 2021 project was the family tomb for the Brion family in the 1960s but has become a manifestation of abstraction, with minimalist shapes rule and where nature and water coexist beside the dark, urban concrete.

Our own art partner, surrealist photographer Minh T, is sure to take your breath away with a collection of edgy ,thought-provoking photos of the Brion Tomb, all sprinkled throughout our hotel's rooms. So, when you are relaxing in your room or making your way down the hallway, don't forget to look up – you might be lucky enough to get to see one of Minh T’s fascinating photographs!
