Your guide to shopping in Cannes

With a list of devotees that includes F. Scott Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Taylor and Johnny Depp, Cannes is inextricably linked with a world of glitz and glamor.

The beautiful people who descend upon the town each summer invariably require the finest food and fashion around – and Cannes is more than happy to deliver.

Marché Forville

The Forville Market is one of the most renowned in the city, located on a street named in its honor. Its charcuteries and fromageries are among the best in the world, and several stallholder families have maintained a presence in the market for so long, they've become institutions in their own right. A go-to spot for locals seeking fresh fish, fruit, dairy products, vegetables and flowers, each Monday it transforms into a busy flea market. Bistros and bars abound, providing thirsty shoppers with an ideal stopping point for a beverage and pastry. The market is situated roughly three blocks north of Le Vieux Port, and it's best to arrive as early as possible to beat the crowds and early afternoon closing time.

Marché Gambetta

Situated in the heart of the city, this covered market is open every day except Monday. An excellent place to pick up cashmere scarves and patterned blouses, Gambetta is also renowned for its selection of shoes, jewelry and leather goods. There's no shortage of bars and restaurants, several of which are tucked away inside the pedestrian-oriented Rue Hoche, just off the main square. If you need to grab some groceries, you'll find a nice selection of nearby kosher delis, butchers and wine shops as well as an Asian supermarket with an array of fruits and vegetables. Look out for prized regional ingredients like Provence herbs, pastis and tapenade to take home as gifts.

Rue Hoche

This ultra-trendy pedestrian street has a generous mix of hotels, hair salons, high-name fashion brands, interior design shops and ready-to-wear clothing boutiques. If you need a break from shopping, stop in at Le Cirque, a two-floor bistro and wine bar. The outdoor seating is ideal for people watching, if you can tear your eyes away from the impeccably-presented Mediterranean fare. Rue Hoche is conveniently situated close to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, a large convention and exhibition space.

Rue d'Antibes

A mere seven-minute drive from our Radisson Blu 1835 Hotel & Thalasso, Cannes will take you straight to this celebrated street. Look out for quintessentially French establishments like Ladurée, makers of impossibly delicious macarons, and Agnes B., maker of impossibly chic clothing. Italian fashion houses like Max Mara and Missoni are nestled between homegrown favorites such as Promod and L'Occitane en Provence, with fine dining restaurants scattered liberally throughout the street.

La Croisette

Set aside a whole afternoon for a saunter down all three kilometers of this famous shop-lined promenade, where you'll find haute couture boutiques including Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Armani and Céline. Those in the market for fine jewelry won't be disappointed with the likes of Ferret, Cartier and Chopard. The street also has a wide selection of upscale leather goods from names such as Fendi, Gucci, Hermès and Louis Vuitton.
