Malta: Double the Delight with Lively Party Hotspots and Glorious Natural Beauty

Despite being only 122 sq. miles (316 sq. km) and the world’s 10th smallest country, Malta is packed to the brim with diverse and exciting things to do and see. 

A trip to the ancient capital of Mdina with its picturesque streets and impressive fortifications is a must if you’re a history buff. Popular TV series have also made use of its ancient, cobbled streets to recreate the cities of old. Malta is an archipelago, so the azure waters that surround the island offer a wealth of exciting opportunities. Comino is the best spot if you fancy trying reef and cave diving in Malta, so a visit to the Blue Lagoon is a must. You can swim in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of this stunning lagoon, which are perfect for snorkeling. Alternatively, you could visit the Blue Grotto with a boat ride through sea caves, which are especially beautiful in the morning light.

Paceville in St. Julian’s is pretty much the place to be for Malta nightlife, as it boasts the highest concentration of nightclubs, dining venues, pubs and bars on the island. Malta is home to so many churches that it would take you a year to visit them all. So it’s no surprise that traditional religious festivals and feasts are a big part of Maltese life. Malta’s festas, with fireworks, music and celebrations honoring local saints are a great way to embrace local culture.
