This Valentine's Day, why not check out the City of Love, Batumi. The theme of Love is captured across the city though a series of fascinating statues and sculptures, each with their own romantic story to tell.

From a romantic coffee for two in the park, to rotating statues with a tragic story to tell, Batumi's themed sculptures are of much interest. Whether you are heading to the city this Valentine's Day or at any other time of the year, these statues are perfect to include in your romantic break. Love certainly is in the air in Batumi!

Me, you and Batumi

‘Me, you and Batumi' has taken pride of place in Miracle Park since 2012. The sculpture is the work of Irakli Tsuladze, who wanted to showcase the importance of drinking coffee in local culture. The smartly dressed couple are sitting on the promenade by a table decorated with flowers and coffee as the world passes them by. It has fast become a popular attraction for visitors. Look out for other sculptures in the city's parks such as the dapper looking gentleman below waiting with a rose.

Ali and Nino

Standing seven meters high above Batumi's boulevard, is a steel structure depicting a man and woman. This, however, is no ordinary sculpture. After 19:00, it rotates every ten minutes and merges to become one, whilst illuminated in vibrant color. Named ‘Ali and Nino', this Batumi highlight was designed by Tamar Kvesitadze. It is based on a tragic Georgian story similar to that of Romeo and Juliet where a young man from Azerbaijani falls for a Georgian Princess. Visit the statue to interpret your version of this beautiful story.

First Love

Another masterpiece from Irakli Tsuladze, First Love, is best seen as the sun is setting over the Black Sea with your loved one by your side. This sculpture, carefully molded from a blend of concrete, bronze and glass, has been decorating the shoreline since 2012 and is a popular photo spot.

The City of Love

Locals call Batumi the City of Love, something that is reflected wherever you are. Across the central areas, you'll see themed statues bearing red love hearts such a man skating, a man doing a hand stand or down on one knee proposing to the love of his life.

Whether you are taking a walk in the park, relaxing on the beach promenade or having a coffee in one of the many cafes, love is everywhere in Batumi.
