This office building was opened in 2006. Its shape resembles one of the numerous ships in the port and is a memorable eye-catcher for sure. The six-story construction made of glass and steel is accessible by climbing 136 steps. Once you've reached the top, you'll be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Elbe, the Hamburg skyline and if you're lucky, a cruise ship here and there. Especially at sunset, the atmosphere is simply breathtaking. The central location offers the perfect opportunity for a quick trip - and a great photo or two.

Fish has not been traded here since the 1950s. Today, the auction hall is one of Hamburg's most popular event locations: Especially during Sunday brunch, there's a lot going on here. The building was erected in 1894 when Altona and Hamburg still had a rivalling relationship. The special architecture is the archetype of the Roman market hall which later even inspired the church building of Christianity. The richly decorated arches and colorful glass make for a great photo motive.

Because of its special architecture and history, the ten-story expressionist style office building has been appointed an UNESCO world cultural heritage site. The building's shape is meant to resemble a ship's bow - in line with the international sea trade that has been going on here since 1924. The indoor garden holds a number of cafés and shops that provide a simply special view upwards. The façade boasts an incredible 2,800 windows and a breathtaking view from the upper floors.

For those interested in history and classical music, the historic flair of Peterstraße is just right. Residential buildings from the 17th century have been accurately recreated here. The Beyling-Stift that was built in the mid-18th century has been preserved in its original style. A walk along all the romantic façades will make you feel like you're on a journey through time, as will the museums of two well-known composers.
