Krakow is one of the oldest cities in Poland, and the second largest in the country. On the banks of the Vistula river, the beautiful city is home to pretty architecture, museums and attractions, and the atmospheric Old Town. In the heart of Krakow is the Market Square, the largest medieval market square in Europe. Built in 1257, it has long been an atmospheric site for shopping, festivals and other events, and is one of the most popular places to visit in the city. All through the year, you will find florists, gift shops, boutiques, pubs and cafes open for business, and in winter the Market Square becomes home to the Krakow Christmas Market. The buildings lining Market Square are filled with tourist attractions, such as historic St. Mary's Basilica and Town Hall Tower. The centre of Krakow Market Square is dominated by the beautiful, renaissance style Cloth Hall, which is a fantastic place to visit whether you are in the mood for sightseeing or shopping. Inside the Cloth Hall you will find stalls selling souvenirs, food, and craft, while in the upper level of Cloth Hall you can visit the Sukiennice Museum. Sukiennice Museum houses the gallery of 19th Century Polish Art, one of the collections of the National Museum in Krakow. On the corner of Market Square is Pasaz 13, a thoroughly modern mall in this ancient area. The interiors of two historic buildings have been transformed into an elegant shopping arcade of Gothic arches, glass and marble, and visitors can browse through boutiques of designer fashion brands and gourmet food. If you're a fan of browsing through flea markets, then look no further than Hala Targowa, which is a short walk away from Market Square. Through the week you can look through clothes and craft, but on Sunday mornings the square becomes filled with unique treasures and antiques to rummage through.

In atmospheric Krakow's old town, visit the impressive Galeria Krakowska shopping mall. There are over 270 brands and shops to browse through, including designer labels like Lacoste and Hilfiger and high street favorites Zara, H&M and Levi. You can also look through boutiques featuring Polish designers, such as jewelers Ania Kruk and Łodzińcy, and take a break at one of the many eateries in the mall. Near the banks of the Vistula River sits Galeria Kazimierz, home to over 130 stores.
