So, you have your tickets and you are on the way to the park. There are a few things to keep in mind that may make your day that little bit better. Firstly, the FASTPASS is you best friend. When you reach a ride you would like to try, head to the FASTPASS machine and enter your tickets. You will get a FASTPASS ticket free with a time to come back so you don't have to queue! You can also take advantage of the short queues in the first two hours of opening if you are up early, or the last two hours, when the crowds start thinning. Some rides are undergoing some renovations to add a little more shine and magic, so please make sure to take a look at the refurbishment schedule to avoid any disappointment.

Another important tip is to pack snacks. There is nothing worse than lining up with hungry kids. Pack some bars, fruit or small snacks to make sure hunger is kept at bay so you don't miss out on any of the fun. Some people even opt to bring a picnic, but there are plenty of great restaurants with all kinds of cuisines if you don't want to bother preparing something.

One of the most important things to see when at Disneyland is the parade. See all your favorite characters and watch your kids' faces light up when their cartoon heroes come marching by. Be sure to plan rides and meals around the parade and any other shows you want to see. Perhaps there is a cool screening you want to catch, so browse the website and jot down important times before you reach the park and get lost in the timeless magic.

This is going to be one of those days that you want comfortable shoes, a backpack, loose fitting clothes and a refillable water bottle. You will be walking or running around all day and be thrown through the air on the many rides. Heels may look wonderful in your selfies with the castle, but this is no place for style. Make your family's wardrobe as fun-friendly as possible and if your kids absolutely must wear their favorite princess or prince outfit, then make sure they have running shoes.
