Barbican

The Barbican is Europe's largest performing arts centre, located right in the City of London. Its Brutalist styled architecture offers lots of opportunities to take some unique photos, like the one below by Chris Martin Scholl. King's Cross

King's Cross Station is a passenger railway terminus on the edge of Central London and one of the busiest stations in the United Kingdom. But that doesn't make it any less interesting as a spot to visit. Its refurbishment in 2012 introduced a unique steel structure for the roof which can be described as a reverse waterfall-like grid, flowing up from the ground and spreading into the ceiling. Baker St

Baker Street is one of the original stations of the London Metropolitan Railway, the world's first underground railway, opened in 1863. The underground platform is flooded with natural, non-direct light by a row of neatly designed light wells. Depending on the time of the day, Chris says the sun produces distinct lighting, which makes for a variety of different photo opportunities.

The whole area has a very urban feel to it and it's a great spot to explore and take architectural shots of the railways and steel structures. One of the highlights is the pedestrian tunnel, which leads to the platforms of Poplar DLR station. Fans of symmetrical perspectives won't be disappointed. Make sure to visit this spot during blue hour or at night for the best shots. You'll understand why it's one of London's most Instagrammable spots!

Tate Modern

Tate Modern is one of the world's most prominent museums for modern art. It's situated across the Thames from St. Paul's Cathedral, inside a converted power station. Aside from a 360 degree viewpoint, it offers great architectural design inside. A giant staircase leads to the basement tanks, which are made out of concrete. This spot is a must see when in London, not only for photographers but also for anyone interested in art and architecture.

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is without a doubt the most famous drawbridge in the world. This alone makes it a must-see landmark when visiting London. A lot of photographs have been taken from this spot already and the pedestrian ways seem to be crowded 24/7. In order to obtain a unique shot, make sure to come late in the evening and bring your tripod for some amazing long exposures (like the one above!). London's top rooftops

The Garden at 120 is the City of London's latest rooftop spot, offering free entry without the need to pre-book. The location sits above the multi-colored crown of Fen Court and offers views to the South, East and West. The North offers an amazing close-up view of Gherkin tower. Make sure to get there before sunset as the queue at the entry can get quite long and the maximum number of visitors allowed in can be reached rather quickly. But if you manage to get up there, you'll be treated to one of the best views London has to offer!
