5 Fascinating Photo Spots in Dubai

If you're into travel photography, then you'll want to check out two urban travel photographers who go by the names of Sébastien Nagy and CEE_Explorer. If you aren't familiar with their work, let's just say that no matter where they've aimed their lens, they'll inspire you to travel wherever it is they've gone! So far, they've taken us on a photo tour of Shanghai, Paris, Brussels, and Lisbon. Next stop? Dubai! Dubai has a few aquariums you really need to see to believe. Although you may think of aquariums as a great spot to take the kids for an outing, it's also a wow experience for adults. They transport you to the depths of the ocean - and allow you to have an up-close encounter with some pretty fascinating creatures! The Dubai Mall Aquarium is brand new and located within the largest mall in the world. For Nagy, the plus of this site is the long tunnel at the entrance which allows for a unique perspective.

The Lost Chambers is also a popular photo spot. The large glass panels means you can observe a vast diversity of marine life. Nagy recommends to go around mid-day for the best lighting. (Going at night can be an experience in itself, but the photography opportunities will be limited).

Known as being the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa is of course one of Dubai's main attractions. While a ticket to the top can be a bit pricey, the view is most definitely worth it. Where else will you be able to have such a stunning skyline view? Did you know the tower is twice the height of the Eiffel Tower?

As Dubai is such a futuristic city (remember, the desert is the foundation of this relatively newly constructed city!), it can be fascinating to step away from the hussle and bustle of the skyrises and get a feeling for the vastness of the desert and what the land used to look like. CEE_Explorer recommends to time your excursion right so you can catch the sunset over the dunes.

Situated a bout an hour's drive away, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque makes for a perfect day trip from Dubai. Head there during the afternoon to snatch some shots at daylight and stay until dusk to photograph the mosque at night. If you're an architecture lover, you won't want to miss this majestic example of a building which seamlessly exemplifies both traditional and modern influences.

You can't go to Dubai and not stop to marvel at the extravagance of the artificial palm tree structure that is the Palm Jumeirah. It's nearly impossible to describe its immensity, but imagine an artifically constructed island in the middle of one of the world's busiest cities in the shape of a palm tree.
