Radisson Hotel Group expands in Iberia with new signings in Spain and a strategic portfolio enhancement in Portugal

Radisson Hotel Group is proud to announce its debut in both Malaga and Tenerife with the signing of Radisson RED Malaga, a bold and vibrant new-build hotel, and Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife, a landmark resort set to undergo a full renovation. Furthermore, the Group continues to strengthen its presence in Iberia with the upcoming opening of Radisson RED Porto Gaia in Vila Nova de Gaia, and a significant investment planned for the refurbishment of Radisson Blu Hotel, Lisbon, starting in 2025. These developments reinforce the Group’s strategic growth in the region, enhancing its portfolio with dynamic new properties and elevated guest experiences.

Over the last few years, Radisson Hotel Group has significantly strengthened its presence in Spain and the wider Iberian region with the opening and signing of several notable properties, including the Radisson Blu 1882 Hotel, Barcelona Sagrada Familia; Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Via Bilbao; Radisson Collection Hotel, Magdalena Plaza Sevilla; Radisson RED Madrid; Radisson Blu Resort, Lanzarote and the signing of the first Radisson Collection in the heart of Madrid. Radisson RED Malaga: Bold Lifestyle in Spain’s Urban Jewel

Set to open in Q2 2027, Radisson RED Malaga will bring a playful, design-forward experience to one of Spain’s fastest-growing urban leisure destinations. Known for its vibrant art scene, rich history, and cosmopolitan atmosphere, Malaga is an ideal setting for the Radisson RED brand’s renowned, unique approach to hospitality. 

The 102-room hotel will offer a mix of standard and superior guestrooms, with some overlooking charming internal courtyards and others facing the lively Trinidad Street. A vibrant ground-floor restaurant and bar will provide a welcoming social space, while a rooftop bar and swimming pool on the third level will offer stunning views of Malaga’s historic cityscape, making it a prime spot for guests to relax and unwind. The hotel will also feature multifunctional meeting and event space spanning over 100 m², designed to accommodate both business and social gatherings. For fitness enthusiasts and wellness seekers, the hotel will include a dedicated 110 m² fitness and wellness area, ensuring guests can maintain their routines while traveling.

Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife: A Hilltop Haven in the Canary Islands 

Scheduled to open in Q4 2025 following a complete renovation and repositioning, Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife will introduce the first Radisson-branded resort on the picturesque island of Tenerife. Perched atop a prime hilltop, the resort boasts breathtaking panoramic views and convenient access to Tenerife’s most iconic attractions, including Loro Parque, Teide National Park, and Playa Jardín. Its strategic location also provides an excellent gateway to explore the stunning northern riviera of Tenerife. Travelers can immerse themselves in the charm of colonial La Orotava and its picturesque valley, discover the historic towns of Icod de los Vinos and Garachico, or venture into the unspoiled beauty of the Anaga Rural Park—all while enjoying proximity to renowned landmarks like Loro Parque and Teide National Park. 

The resort will feature 242 units, consisting of hotel rooms and apartments, many of which include private balconies and terraces that immerse guests in the surrounding natural beauty. Guests can look forward to an elevated dining experience with two thoughtfully designed restaurants and a pool bar that will showcase local and international flavors. A spacious 500 m² ballroom will provide an ideal venue for conferences, weddings, and celebrations, while the wellness area will offer a tranquil retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation. 

With its year-round pleasant climate and thriving tourism market, Tenerife remains a highly attractive destination for international travelers. The resort is conveniently located 25 minutes from Los Rodeos Airport and one hour from Reina Sofia Airport, making it easily accessible.

Radisson RED Porto Gaia set to open in 2027 

Scheduled to open in early 2027, the highly anticipated Radisson RED Porto Gaia will bring a bold and vibrant lifestyle experience to Vila Nova de Gaia, ideally positioned in front of General Torres metro and train station. Guests will enjoy seamless access to Porto’s top attractions, including the Dom Luís I Bridge, a 10-minute walk, the historic city center, 5 minutes away by metro, and the famous Port wine cellars. Its prime location also ensures convenient connections to business hubs and Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, 45 minutes away by metro, making it ideal for both leisure and corporate travelers. 

The 250-room hotel will feature dynamic social spaces, including an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar, a terrace bar, and a rooftop bar with stunning Douro River views. Guests will also be able to enjoy a fitness center and a 190m² solarium for relaxation. With cutting-edge design, exceptional connectivity, and Radisson RED’s signature playful spirit, this hotel is poised to become a standout destination in Porto’s hospitality scene.
