How to get to the Radisson Blu Resort, Maldives
From Velana International Airport (MLE)
By seaplane transfer:
Seaplane transfers to the resort take approximately 30-45 minutes with possible short stops at other resorts along the way.
Seaplanes only operate during daylight hours and will cater to guests arriving on international flights between 6 am-3:30 pm daily and 9 am–8 pm for departing international flights.
The final flight scheduled is confirmed one day prior with slight changes to timings subject to prevailing weather conditions and the arriving and departing international flights.
Baggage allowance:
- Baggage allowance per person (over age of 2 years old) is 20 kilograms for check-in luggage and 3 kilograms for hand luggage. There is no baggage allowance for infants.
- Excess baggage will be charged at an additional fee of USD 5.60 per kilogram and is to be paid at the check-in counter.
- For any individual baggage piece, the linear dimension must not exceed 158 centimeters and the weight must not exceed 32 kilograms.
From Villa Airport Maamigili (VAM)
By domestic flight transfer:
Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, our Airport Representatives will welcome you and escort you to the Domestic Terminal, where you can check in for your domestic transfer. The waiting time for the domestic flight transfer is approximately two hours from the time of check-in and is dependent on airline operations and weather conditions.
The domestic flight journey takes approximately 30 minutes each way. Once you have arrived at Villa Airport Maamigili, you will be received by our Front Office Team, who will escort you to the waiting speedboat for a short 15-minute speedboat ride to the Radisson Blu Resort, Maldives..
Seaplane baggage allowance:
- Baggage allowance per person (over age of 2 years old) is 25 kilograms for check-in luggage and 5 kilograms for hand luggage. There is no baggage allowance for infants.

A 30-day tourist visa is automatically granted for all nationalities if they meet the following entry requirements: 1. Possess a confirmed reservation at a registered tourist facility 2. A complete travel itinerary including confirmed return journey tickets 3. Entry requirements to their onward destinations, for example, visa and passport validity 4. The Traveller Declaration form must be filled in and submitted by all travelers during arrival and departure to and from the Maldives, within 96 hours of the flight time. The form has to be submitted electronically via the link given below. 5. Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if applicable. Once you have arrived and cleared all Immigration formalities, taken your luggage, and cleared Maldives Customs, you will have to make your way out of the arrival terminal. A Radisson Blu Resort, Maldives representative will be waiting outside holding a resort plaque so that you can identify them. Our airport representative will escort you to the Trans Maldivian Airways counter for your check-in and then escort you to the seaplane lounge to await your transfer to the resort. They remain on hand should any issue arise and will keep you informed should there be any changes to the flight schedule.
Explosives, weapons, firearms, ammunition, pornographic material, materials deemed contrary to Islam including ‘idols for worship’ and bibles, pork and pork products, and alcohol are not permitted in the Maldives. Alcoholic beverages are only available for consumption on registered resort islands. It is strictly prohibited to transport alcohol out of a resort island via seaplanes, domestic flights, or speedboats. Additionally, strict penalties apply to those attempting to bring illegal drugs into the country. Upon your arrival to the Maldives, if liquids are detected in your luggage, Maldives Customs officials will require you to open your bags. Should there be alcohol in your luggage, this will be confiscated and returned to you when you are departing the Maldives. The export of tortoise shell and coral is strictly forbidden.
