Whale shark conservation
Radisson Blu Resort, Maldives has partnered with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Program (MWSRP), marking a major milestone in sustainable tourism and marine conservation.
Through this long-term collaboration, the resort will serve as MWSRP’s South Ari Atoll research base, offering weekly whale shark expeditions that support real-time data collection, hosting a resident researcher, and providing engaging educational experiences through a new Whale Shark Research Centre.
The partnership also includes marine conservation training for staff, guest-supported fundraising for MWSRP’s work, and global awareness efforts amplified through the Radisson Hotel Group network, uniting hospitality with impactful marine science to protect whale sharks and inspire meaningful guest participation.
The Whale Shark Research Centre is open daily from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Coral restoration
At Radisson Blu Resort, Maldives, we are committed to protecting our surrounding marine environment through a coral restoration project led by our in-house marine biologist.
Using the floating line nursery method, small coral fragments are attached to suspended horizontal lines that reduce sedimentation and predation, allowing young corals to grow in a stable environment. Once mature, these corals are transplanted back onto the natural reef, helping rehabilitate damaged areas and support a healthier, more resilient ecosystem.
The Marine Centre is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Diving in the South Ari Atoll
Plunge into the depths of the South Ari Atoll for some of the best diving in the Maldives. The warm, clear waters and shallow reefs with an abundance of overhangs and canyons feature soft vibrant corals and a wide spectrum of marine life such as whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, and nurse sharks.
Our on-site PADI 5 Star Dive and Water Sports Center welcomes you to embark upon or renew your certifications or simply explore the atoll on our expeditions.

On-island water sports
Our private island home with its pristine lagoon offers the ideal spot for water activities. Get your adrenaline pumping as you cruise the waves as you jet ski or water ski, soar above the waves as you parasail, wakeboard, or master the x-jet blade or electric foil. Plunge beneath the waves with our sea bobs for an exhilarating experience.

Yacht charters

Whale shark excursions
We're located in one of the world’s best places to sight and swim alongside whale sharks throughout the year.
Unlike other areas in the Maldives where whale sharks are known to congregate, the plankton-rich waters of the South Ari Atoll provide the perfect conditions for these docile giants of the sea to be present all year round. The largest gatherings are observed between December and April.

Sunset and dolphin cruises
Set sail on a delightful afternoon cruise and keep watch for our flippered friends as we explore the waters nearby in search of the ocean's most playful creatures.

Evening entertainment
Discover our weekly schedule with an array of evening entertainment to excite and delight, suitable for all ages. Enjoy live music by our resident band performing favorites from the 80's and 90's and contemporary hits, karaoke nights, competitions, bingo nights, and quiz nights to name a few. For those preferring a relaxed, intimate evening, opt for a private cinema screening on the beach.
Beach and leisure activities
For families and groups travelling together, there is so much on offer apart from the underwater activities. Make your way down to the Raha Beach with family members or new friends and start some friendly rivalry over a fun game of beach volleyball or football. Other types of activities can also be arranged upon prior request.
