The overall experience was excellent! The staff was helpful for the arrangement of taxi, currency recommendations, assistance with language, house keeping did a fabulous job. I highly recommend this hotel. I enjoyed the 4th floor view of the harbor.

In May 2026, we stayed at the Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia Istanbul. The hotel was absolutely fantastic — we really loved it! It’s located in the Sultanahmet area, close to the main attractions (the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc.), while still being on a quiet street, so there’s no noise in the evenings. When we checked in, we were given a complimentary room upgrade: instead of a standard room, we got a triple room, which was, of course, a very pleasant surprise. The rooms are beautiful and modern ☺️ The only small issue we had was that the first time we turned on the water, there was a slight leak under the sink, but it never happened again, so we didn’t bother contacting reception. The hotel has a really cool inner courtyard with street art. There are also unusual passageways connecting the building where you stay, the dining area, and the lobby — the first time, you can easily get lost (one woman even called it a labyrinth 😁), but by the second time you already remember where everything is, and honestly, it makes the experience even more interesting. All the staff members are true professionals — very polite and competent. We especially remember Servet at the reception desk: very pleasant, friendly, and he even studied in Moscow, so he speaks some Russian. We’d also like to mention the restaurant ☕ The breakfasts were delicious, and the terrace view is stunning! We also had lunch once at the restaurant on the ground floor — as we understood it, this place used to be a cistern (similar to the Basilica Cistern or the Theodosius Cistern), and it’s a beautiful location. We didn’t have much time for lunch because it was time to head to the airport, so we needed to eat quickly. A staff member named Muammer helped organize everything perfectly, and he’s also a very charismatic person. We appreciated not only his work in the restaurant, but also during breakfast service — very dedicated and responsible! A huge thank you to the hotel for such a wonderful stay! We would be happy to come back again 🧡

Such a pleasant experience in all aspects. Can we give a special nod to Muammer who brought joy each morning when we had the delicious breakfast?
