Outstanding treasure of North Eastern cuisine
2025-08-21 A absolute treat of a restaurant. As the name suggests, nestled in one side of the lovely Radisson in Guwahati, this place is a treasure trove of Asian cuisine and even more so of North East Indian cuisine which it absolutely excels in
Recommended by a friend, I decided to pop in for dinner.
I was met by an incredibly gracious hostess, Moromi, who would go on to make my dinner experience absolutely fantastic with her suggestions.
I am usual a bit lost with menus so I asked her for her suggestions for a meal for one.
The starter dish was a delicious Chicken Lazizi, a fried chicken sautéed in black pepper. The chef did a super job of this. Perfectly crisped and the perfect start to dinner.
The mains were what my friend had suggested and Moromi whole heartedly endorsed, seeming happy that I chose to order North Eastern cuisine over the traditional staples.
The dishes were Chicken Amarusu, a Naga delicacy that looks deceptively bland but is an explosion of flavours and chilli with the right amount of heat. Along with that was the Assamese Joha rice, small grain and very flavourful. A brilliant combo.
I did not have any space to try the desserts.
What an exceptional dinner. Thank you Moromi. I will surely be back.
