Park Plaza Bangkok Soi 18

We had dinner at Daryaganj in Park Plaza Bangkok Soi 18 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was busy, with lots of Punjabi families and Sikh guests dining there, which gave us confidence that the food was authentic. The atmosphere was lovely, with pleasant background music and a relaxed feel. We ordered the famous 1947 Butter Chicken, which absolutely lived up to its reputation. The sauce was rich, creamy and packed with flavour without being overpowering. We also had the 5 Senses Lamb, which was tender and beautifully spiced. The basmati rice was light and fragrant, and went perfectly with both dishes. We shared a bottle of 1924 Double Black red wine, which complemented the meal very well. The service was excellent throughout the evening. We were looked after by Ashu, and also met Ashish and Basant, all of whom were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The hot towels at the end of the meal were a lovely touch. The restaurant itself was spotless, including the toilets, and the open kitchen looked very clean and well organised. This was our first visit, and we left very impressed. If you’re looking for authentic Punjabi food in Bangkok in comfortable surroundings, Daryaganj is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended. We will happily return.
