5 because of the outdoor pool. Hotel is ok. Our room was cosy and clean. We didn’t have an evening meal or breakfast because we were visiting family. Staff were friendly and made us welcome. The outside pool is why I stopped here. It is great. Staff are friendly and welcoming and made my visit to the pool even better. Pool is accessible for someone like me with mobility issues. I really enjoyed my morning swim. If I lived near by I would be a regular.

Such a lovely place to stay. Very warm and welcoming. Only issue we had was the water was off colour when we ran a bath . Other than that we had a beautiful stay. Thankyou

Such a nice hotel . We had an issue with a room which was sorted straight away . Staff so efficient . Location is great .

Having read some of the reviews prior to staying here, I was a little concerned but I am so glad I took the gamble! We had the most amazing time, the staff were absolutely fabulous- especially Simran who was on duty throughout our stay and was so chatty, smiley and helpful- a credit to the hotel for sure! The annex is a little dated and the corridors were quite chilly but our room (71) was perfect for us! A view over the pool, spacious and warm and the shower and bed were amazing! My only tiny niggle is that we were promised a bath and had a shower and the towel rail didn’t heat up so our towels were damp the next day but these are very minor details and had no impact on our stay. A fabulous break away and we definitely will be back!

Matlock the stay was nice but the dirty carpets let the experience down as they need regular cleaning. I had to keep my shoes on which should not have been the situation.
