Hotel in area close to all York city places of interest,hotel reception excellent hotel bar and bar staff excellent

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our room was a double, the bed was comfortable, which you want. Only downside there were no chest of drawers or a wardrobe, in saying that they did have arms on the wall with coat hangers for hanging clothes. Breakfast was fantastic, with a great choice. We are in the Paddle room one evening and had the flat minute steak, would definitely recommend. The hotel is in walking distance of the town and a good selection of restaurants. Staff very great! Will definitely be back.

Hotel is in a great location. Beds were super comfy (slight downfall with pillows but that probably preference). Hotel and rooms were clean and the staff were great.

I stayed at the hotel from 23–24 January 2026 for work. Check-in The check-in process was efficient and well managed. As a female solo traveller, I particularly appreciated that reception staff did not announce my room number in a busy public area. This demonstrated good awareness of personal safety and professionalism. Atmosphere The hotel is larger than it first appears, offering a well-appointed bar, restaurant, gym, and conference facilities. Despite its scale, it maintains a calm and comfortable environment that supports both work and rest. Service As part of a business group of approximately 30 people, we were provided with a private dining area for dinner. The setup was well organised, and the three-course meal was generous and well prepared. Service throughout the evening was excellent, with attentive and professional staff. The bar also offered reasonably priced drinks. Food Both dinner and breakfast were plentiful and of good quality. Overall As this was my first visit to York, I was impressed by the local area and amenities surrounding the hotel. The nearby historic landmarks were outstanding. I would happily return to this hotel and would confidently recommend it to others.
