I had previously stayed at the "old" Radisson a few times and never really been impressed. More recently, I had used various hotels in the city centre but I was keen to see what the new Radisson offered. The first big plus for me was free, secure on site parking. I never liked leaving my car in a public car park int he city centre and paying NoK 250 to park overnight. The reception/bar and restaurant is a large open plan area with plenty of seating. Only one person on reception could make check in rather slow and bar service even slower given the bar is the reception. The new rooms feel fresh and comfortable and a having a view out over the water was a bonus. Personally, I thought the bed was too soft, but this is just my preference. The walls and ceilings in the room must be very thin or offer poor insulation against sound. I could hear pretty much every movement in the room above me and the rooms next door - maybe I just had noisy neighbours. The hotel rate I paid was inclusive of dinner - which is a very limited buffet and was really nothing special. I much prefer to choose what I want to eat from a menu or make the decision to eat away from the hotel. I also prefer to charge my drinks to my room and settle the bill on check out, but I was told this wasn't possible. Overall, it's nice to stay in a new hotel, everything smells new and fresh and is clean, but the noise from other rooms and the lack of meal choice mean I'd probably choose to stay in the city centre for future visits.
So nice to be a guest in such a nice hotel. My room had a private balcony with beautiful views. The room was lovely, there was also the bathroom. Very comfortable and good bed. Lovely dinner served. The breakfast was also very good. All the staff I met were very friendly and gave super good service.
At Radisson we could read: "Experience elegant comfort at the fully renovated Radisson Hotel Haugesund. Book a memorable stay in one of 123 modern rooms and suites. That’s why we booked here which was actually a bit more expensive than in the centre of Haugesund. We like some comfort when we are on the go. When we arrive the receptionist can tell that he has only worked here for 5 days and therefore can not answer us a simple question about bonus points. Jaja, it can happen, not a big problem. The room is fine enough, everything is new so is currently clean, but very poor pillows and cheap duves. Breakfast was fine on Saturday. We stay out all day and return in the afternoon. The room is not cleaned and is not cleaned and vacuumed. With ventilation so the rooms become dusty so it seems strange that they choose to skip this. On Sunday we get up and go for breakfast at 9:10, when it's mostly empty for breakfast. When other guests ask if there will be replenishment, they only get notified that when it is empty it is empty. The staff seem insecure, they have no name sign and there is very little service to find here in comparison to what you have paid for, it reminds more of a bed & breakfast but on Sundays there is only bed & breakfast. We will not come back here and if Radisson thinks this is good enough then we will not choose Radisson at all.
Stayed here 1 night in September in connection with a job. The hotel is completely new, although the reviews here are mostly from the old hotel. Everything is clean, neat and in typical Radisson style. But nothing extraordinary. Got upgraded room with balcony, but missed Nespresson machine. The breakfast was completely basic, but given that it seemed like there were few guests I think it was ok. I find it annoying with some pretty loud music in the reception area and restaurant. Plus for nice staff and free parking.
