Our first time at Radisson Blu in Trysil. First time skiers with children, the hotel came recommended from friends. And it did not disappoint.
Room: deluxe apartments are good for small families. But ensure you ask for a balcony with a view of the slopes. We were allocated balcony with view of the car park initially. We requested for a change and thankfully got it despite the hotel being fully booked.
Dining: Book your reservations in advance. They get booked up very quickly. You have the Hill for the buffet. An Italian restaurant, a burger and bowling place and a steak house. They also have a coffee shop that sells sandwiches.
Food: Food at the Hill is predictable. Same fare everyday but decent. Good choice of salads, fish and meats. Breakfast is same fare everyday. You have a supermarket close by where you can buy some snacks and drinks.
Ski: that’s the best part! Everything is so close by. The rentals, the ski school, the ski lockers. You can literally hit the slopes as you come out of the ski lockers.
Staff: very very polite. One of the best I have encountered. Always smiling, ready to help and always so patient despite managing swathes of crowds.
Pool: very crowded in the afternoon and evening. Water is relatively cold. The hot tub is tiny and always full. Sauna is decent and they have a good spa facility.
I would give this place 5/5 for all its benefits, ease for skiing, child-friendly and above all the staff at the reception and restaurants.
Already booking it for 2024.
