"Exceptional hotel in a quiet setting"

2026-05-06

When in Nairobi, I alway stay at the Radisson Blu Arboretum because of the verdant setting and exceptional staff. I stayed a week in late April, and everything is as I remember. The setting is tranquil and green. Hotel guests get free access to the Arboretum which is a plus, although the paper map of the jogging trails that were in the rooms have been replaced by a QR code that takes you to a Google map (too bad because I prefer the paper map). The rooms are clean and fresh. The restaurants are very good, with a wonderful breakfast buffet. Radisson takes security very seriously which is very reassuring. But the best of hotel lies with the staff who are always friendly and accomodating. Shout out to Mary at the front desk who is always helpful, John at the lobby who is always alert with the luggage, Rosaida who cleaned my room exceptionally, Snaidah for her friendly service at the Firelake, Florence who made the best eggs, Anne and Kevin at the Pool Bar and the Biz Lounge who always were always available and attentive, and Safine and Cynthia, who are the most charming hostesses! Everyone was fantastic. However, a few things to note: the hotel is undergoing expansion so there is construction ongoing. It can be a little noisy at times, but I look forward to the new environs, which, I hope, includes a bigger gym. The current one, although clean with good equipment, is too small. Also, I recommend another restaurant in the future plans. The Firelake is fine (no complaints) but perhaps the new expansion can include another option. Lastly, although smoking is banned from the rooms and the restaurant, smoking is allowed in the Pool Bar. The area is big enough to have a disgnated no smoking section which I hope the hotel can consider. The hotel is fantastic and highly recommended.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel for two days between 22 and 24 April. The location was very convenient, my room was clean and comfortable and the service was amazing. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always ready to assist. (John the driver and the other Johns and the two ladies at the reception). Their hospitality was incredible.
