The Radisson blu is in a fantastic location for exploring Durham just minutes from the city centre. There's a great relaxed atmosphere in the bar area that serves beautiful cocktails and draft beers. Chloe who checks us in on arrival was first class and very friendly she's a credit to the business. The room was beautiful and clean with lovely views of the river wear. Breakfast was hearty with plenty selection. All in all fantastic relaxing stay which is just what we needed.
We had a very comfortable stay overnight. The bed was very comfy and the corridor was quiet during the night. We had a good view of the river from our room. We didn’t use the pool but did look in and it looked nice. There is a large gym area too. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice including a pancake machine! There was lots of staff so food was replenished and plates taken away. The bar area is a pleasant area for a drink. The aircon wasn’t that cold so the room felt warm at times. I also echo what another review has said on here regarding a complimentary hospitality tray. There was tea, coffee and hot chocolate but not biscuits or other nibbles in the room. It’s a great location for the centre of Durham. I’d stay here again.
The Radisson Blu Durham is based in a really good location, just a short walk over the river to Walkergate where many eating and drink venues are located, it is then a short walk over another bridge to the market square The staff on arrival were very welcoming and nice to deal with and the hotel had a nice atmosphere. The room was very clean, plenty of clothes space especially for a weekend stay, the bed was large and we found it to be comfy. The bathroom although compact had everything we needed although if I had to criticise anything I would say the tap is too close to the back of the sink which makes washing your hands under the tap slightly awkward. The floors in the hotel are solid so hardly any noise from any other floors or rooms We made use of the hotels swimming and spa facilities which were lovely, everywhere was clean and the pool was a great temperature. We made use of the bar area and the staff there were really nice, having a good conversation whist remaining professional We had breakfast in the restaurant on both days, I think we were a bit unlucky with timing on the first morning as most of the were needing a refill (this was at 9.30 not at the end of service) we must have followed an influx so we felt a bit let down but on Sunday it was great, everything was full and hot and what we expected it to be so we must have just hit it at the wrong time on the Saturday Although the Radisson costs slightly more I feel you know what you get with the Radisson brand and especially for a special weekend celebrating a 50th birthday it was worth the treat We will definitely be back!
Came here for my birthday with my husband and son and I really enjoyed my stay. I want to give a massive shoutout to the breakfast team most especially to Grazina for being so sweet and kind. The breakfast was delicious and the environment was perfect. Thank you so much
Huge shout out to the breakfast restaurant team, amazing service this visit as always!
