Just spent a week here and couldn’t have been happier. This hotel was so nice to come back to and relax in at the end of the day. It’s hard to find nice hotels in London and the Park Plazas deliver. Everything is sleek, modern, and clean. Our room was a great size for 2 people-more than enough space. The fridge was broken but they came and brought us another right away. I love that you control the shades and lights with a little pad next to the bed so you don’t have to get up to do it. The bathroom is a great size, and has a huge counter which is so rare in European hotels and so appreciated. There’s so much room for makeup and vanity bags. The shower and toilet area share a sliding door that you move over to whichever you want to close, really unique and space saving. Shower is a good size and was very clean. It also had one of my favorite features I’ve ever seen in a hotel bathroom - a heated mirror so that when you shower and it gets steamy, the middle of the mirror doesn’t fog up and you don’t have to wait for it to clear to use it! Genius.
We had breakfast there one day, it was a bit pricey but great selection and good quality. I think the only issue we had was housekeeping was super inconsistent. Sometimes they’d be perfect, others they’d take the bath mat and not replace, or they wouldn’t replace the sweeteners for the tea we used up or the type of tea we had used. Once they left one of their cleaning spray bottles in the shower. Sometimes they’d replace all our soaps and such, sometimes they wouldn’t give us any new ones. It wasn’t a big deal, each time something was missing we called down and they brought it up in a matter of minutes, but just something the hotel could work on!
We did go to the pool one night, you have to make a reservation but it’s not hard to get. It’s a bit weird since it’s underground and has no windows but it’s a nice thing to have. We used the steam room which is nice after a long day sightseeing. There’s a small gym, tiny but has a few weight machines and free weights and cardio equipment.
Location is perfect, right across from the lambeth north tube station which feeds directly to Waterloo, or you can just walk to Waterloo in 5-10 mins. There’s a grocery store around the corner and a super cute st with tons of restaurants just across from there. Easy to walk over and across Westminster Bridge as well. We never felt unsafe walking back late at night, it’s a nice area and there were always lots of people out and about.
We’ve stayed here and at Park Plaza County Hall and both are fantastic options. Won’t stay anywhere else in London.
