I stayed at the Radisson Blu for 10 days Nov/Dec. It's nestled in between two beautiful, low mountains which cocoon you in a cruise/ship-like hotel.
We arrived at 4pm a bit tired and jaded, after a long day of travelling but were cheered by a glass of cava and excellent, friendly receptionists.
Our room was at the back of the hotel in the tranquil area (Located on the floor above the child-friendly pool area, it was a really peaceful, fairly quiet space.).
We were on the ground floor and could walk out to our sun lounger area which was carpeted with imitation grass. ( I’m not a lover as it is not great for the environment but this was well made and fairly silky on the toes so will hopefully last a few years).
The hotel is staffed really well and I think that's what made our holiday an excellent experience. The buffet-style breakfast is how you imagine it to be for this style of eating. There's a huge amount on offer including cava. I couldn't complain and tried to restrain myself as really, it’s just a ridiculous amount of food. The staff bring pots of coffee to the table with warm milk. I noticed that the water for tea isn't piping hot but I’m
British and were obsessed with tea! Every day I managed to have something different for breakfast and I really couldn't complain. Some days we came to breakfast early which was way more peaceful than the rush between 9-11.
We ate at the buffet restaurant one night but the all-you-can-eat buffet wasn't a thing so ate in some of the lovely restaurants in Mogan. We found Felini, Raddisons’s a la carte restaurant to be really reasonably priced in comparison to the town's restaurants and the fresh rare tuna for starter and chateaubriand for main was my favourite of the holiday.
In terms of facilities, they're good. The outdoor pool is enormous and its bearably cold without being freezing. I enjoyed cooling down in it and could stay in it for long periods of time. I heard a few people say it was cold but it really wasn't.
There's a children’s pool on the floor below which looked fun for families but a bit boisterous for couples. Saying that you couldn't hear a thing once at the top.
There’s also a large jacuzzi outdoor area which was really popular. There are a huge amount of loungers so no fighting for places at all. They're fine forward-facing but I found them uncomfortable on my front. The room loungers are different and more cushioned so way more luxurious.
The gym is small but perfectly formed. Air conditioned and clean, and well-equipped. I enjoyed working out on it.
Lunch and drinks are available in the outdoor terrace and its reasonably priced and jas a nice selection. I had salmon, Canarian potatoes and vegetables of peppers and sweet corn. The salmon was perfectly cooked. I am a healthy eater and found this to be the best dish for me.
Night
The hotel, for the price that we paid was excellent value for money and above and beyond expectations. A reality check is needed for reviewers complaining. I often read reviews from entitled people who have probably paid £700 for a week away and expect a sandals 7 star experience.
I have had the most chilled lovely holiday. All I'm all a 10/10
Thanks Radisson Blu.
