"A very comfortable and quiet hotel ideally located for exploring the city day and night."

A very comfortable hotel ideally located just steps from the Bound, the historic center, and the shopping streets. Friendly and welcoming staff. Quiet and pleasant rooms. A very varied and high-quality breakfast. Ideal for exploring the city on foot or by metro. A lively neighborhood of good quality. We spent 5 pleasant nights. I strongly recommend this place.

"Exceeded my Expectations "

Stayed for 4 nights in the hotel. Was given a free upgrade. Room was extremely spacious and clean. Design was modern and chic, tastefully done. Only thing is it was located on second floor. Without the blinds down in the toilet, I can see the roads in full view. The bed was extremely comfortable. Conveniently located. There are convenience stalls within walking distance around it. Train station is about 5mins’ walk. There are some Malls around, including wholesale now. I attempted walking back from the bund, it was a nice walk and very peaceful in the night. In terms of service, I felt could be enhanced. Breakfast was ok, though I liked the dining area. Overall, I had enjoyed my stay. Will stay again if I next come here.

"Not perfect, but close enough"

First of all, a disclaimer: Shanghai is my hometown. Although I haven’t been living there for two decades, I have no language barriers. That said, don’t let the lack of English skills of some staff put you off. I stayed in hotels in Shanghai that are much higher tier and cost upwards to $300 a night, there is still no guarantee the staff’s English skill will be perfect. So think of it as an adventure. What this hotel has to offer is more than enough for you to overlook some staff members poor English stills. Because it wasn’t a business trip, I am in need of booking a hotel that’s value for money. I was skeptical at first as the building looked old and the price seemed too good to be true. Well, the building was old and the price was good and true. But inside the building, everything was very new and the facility was good. I booked a deluxe King but was upgraded to a suite. For little over $100 a night, it’s a steal. Especially considering it’s flanked by Bellagio and Bvlgari hotels, what you pay here is practically spare change. The room was modern and relatively well maintained, although behind the curtain the wall had a few issues, I guess it’s due to the age of the building. In the lounge room, I can see the 2 tallest buildings of Shanghai and the Bund skyline and the famous “I ❤️ SH” neon billboard, so it’s perfect. Just wish the window was cleaner so the view would be clearer. The bed was a queen size, I guess the size was constraint by the old building layout. I am on my own, so it’s ok. The toilet has the multi function seat, I made a mental note to myself to seek one out when I get home as it has a deodorise function, which worked super well. The overhead shower was good, but the handheld needs to have it’s pressure looked at. The housekeeper was very friendly. Housekeeping was done properly, although vacuum should been done more frequently as the timber floor makes the dust more obvious than carpet. The location of the hotel is one of the best in Shanghai for a tourist. 10 min walk to The Bund and 300m approx to the metro station that has 2 lines will take you to most of the sightseeing places in Shanghai. If you understand the language, I suggest you download Baidu map and you will then be able to utilise the extensive bus network that services the hotel too. If you don’t speak the language, find a capable staff member to help. Basically, wherever you want to go, there is a mode of public transport to take you there. I did not have breakfast, as I wanted to make the most of it by having different local fares from various little restaurants around the hotel. This will be my go-to hotel whenever I come to Shanghai for a home visit now, as long as they don’t put the price up. Also, since the Louvre Hotel Group was acquired by Jinjiang Group. I hope Jinjiang group will keep up the standard of a western hotel should have.

"Location, Location Location"

This was our first hotel on a 13 nights tour of China. The hotel is in a fabulous location and is walking distance to The Bund. There is a grocery store on the corner if you need supplies. The rooms are a great size and very modern and clean. There is a guest laundry to use for a small charge. All the staff are professional and friendly. A big thank you to the gentleman that works in the reception area, he may be the manager. You are awesome thank you for helping us you were always there ready to interpret our requests. Breakfast was great. We can't recommend this hotel enough, this is the place to stay in Shanghai.

"modern hotel very close to the bund"

2019-09-07

The hotel is very well located near the Bund but in a couple of streets back so it is not noisy or to busy.Plenty of restaurants close by. the rooms were quite large and modern with good bathroom and kept clean. Staff were a little cool but english was not a problem and the breakfast was great. I would go back no problem.
