It's an antique hotel, very old and nicely maintaining the old structure. Very close to shanghai main shopping street and 15 minute walk from the seaside view. Only negative point is their breakfast menu is so simple and looks very local.

I stayed here to watch my son’s international rowing competition at the Shanghai Water Sports Center, which is about three miles west of the hotel. This is probably not a place you would stay for an ordinary visit to Shanghai. It is on the far western outskirts of the city about 90 kilometers from PuDong Airport. Still, the area is very nice and is close to the ancient city and nice parks. The hotel and its rooms are beautifully designed and extremely clean. My room had a nice view of the lake next to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was quite diverse and offered an assortment of Chinese and more western cuisine. The lunch and dinner buffets and meals were excellent too. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Unlike central Shanghai, not much English is spoken here, so the translation app on my mobile device really came in handy.

The room we had was cheaper as it did not have a "lake view", but the view was absolutely lovely over the canal and lush gardens. The area is like the everglades or the bayou, very green, verdant, fecund, and still maintain - at this stage - some of the original rural Chinese charm. Restaurants on site were marvelous and the room was super spacious and comfortable.

This hotel is very quiet and surrouding are many gardens. I like this bridge which connecting building 1 and building 2. Quiet environment, warm greeting and large room space. We sleep very comfortable and bathroom is very large. King size bed is 2 metres width and room with balony which could see small garden with oranges tree. Chinese restaurant service is good. You could walk to Zhujiajiao scenic spot within 15 minutes.

I stayed at this property last week for business and it was a pleasant surprise. I had a beautiful lakeview room with a balcony - the bathroom was huge! We held our company meeting in a villa that overlooked the lake that had a very relaxing feel - ironic since I was here for work. I also highly recommend the noodle restaurant - they had a variety of soup bases and it was a nice filling meal after a long day. The only negative about the hotel was that you had to go outside to get to the room from the lobby because of the layout of the property....so it was quite cold unless you had your jacket on all the time! I think this hotel would be perfect for a weekend family getaway when the weather gets a bit warmer - Zhujiajiao water town is only a ten minute walk from the hotel and they have a few bikes outside for guests to ride around the area. I know my kids would love the pool!
