King Abdullah Medical City - Makkah is a 1550-bed quaternary specialized healthcare facility located in the Makkah Region, Saudi Arabia. The medical city consists of three campuses. The specialized hospital campus, a 550-bed quaternary hospital located in Makkah. It hosts multiple centers of excellence, such as the Cardiovascular, Neurosicences, Oncology & Specialized Surgery Centers. The second campus is the Oncology Center located in Jeddah. The third campus is a 1000-bed quaternary healthcare facility built between Jeddah & Makkah and hosting a specialized hospital, rehabilitation hospital, research center and an educational center. The hospital covers all rare specializations and has digital operation rooms.

KAMC-Makkah's oncology department

KAMC-Makkah's oncology department is the major quaternary care oncology center in Saudi Arabia and started receiving cancer patients in November 2010. The oncology center includes four main departments: medical oncology, palliative care, hemato-oncology and radiation oncology. The center is part of a large hospital that provides intensive care and emergency services and all the possible consultations that might be needed for cancer patients around the clock. A highly-qualified department cares for patient experience, patient safety and continuous improvement. Qualified consultants and qualified assistant consultants work together to decrease mortality and alleviate the suffering from cancer. The center delivers a full service starting from diagnosis, work up, staging, treatment, palliative and supportive care through the end-of-life care. The team delivers all types of chemotherapy and targeted therapy and provides the full spectrum of radiation oncology services. The Palliative Care team at KAMC-Makkah is a well-trained and qualified team, delivering symptoms management, supportive care and end-of-life services. The palliative service is fully integrated with other oncology services throughout the treatment course and boasts several publications related to improving quality of palliative care published internationally.

The giant King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) is the third referral specialist medical city in the country after King Fahd Medical City and King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Dammam. King Abdullah Medical City(KAMC), Ministry of Health, is a non-profit tertiary and quaternary health care organization that provides the highest standards of integrated patient care, education and research in an innovative work environment for caregivers.
