Housed in an old brewery dating back to 1844, the award-winning Stary Browar complex has been dubbed as an art, leisure, and shopping extravaganza, and its success as a popular entertainment, shopping, and meeting place has long stood as a symbol of Poznań's economic renaissance.
Shop, see amazing art, take care of business
Part shopping mecca, part art museum, part business and entertainment center, is likely the best way to describe the Stary Browar in Poznan, Poland. This internationally known meeting place is viewed as a prime center of commerce and art, for locals and tourists alike, dating back to its grand opening in 2003. The center is a balanced combination of retail space and art gallery, which sits directly adjacent to a conveniently located high-rise business center.
Not your ordinary shopping mall
The Stary Browar is a perfect example of what the world should do with an unwanted brewery. This brewery transformed into a one-stop shopping center is filled with virtually every type of retail store, indoor entertainment, and business service you'll need during your visit. The Old Brewery is home to around 210 stores and restaurants. There is just about every type of shop one could wish for, as well as a variety of dining options. From the exterior, the Stary Browar is a beautiful, old, yet renovated brick building that is sure to immediately catch your eye. The building's artistic look and feel was inspired by the former brewery, Huggerów and designed by a notable, local stage designer, famous for preserving original polish architecture and style.
Something for everyone inside the mall
The interior design and overall layout of the mall is beautiful and easily manageable. Once you enter the mall complex, you'll quickly come to find a modern, inviting landscape full of art, plenty of places relax, and many historic and recently constructed sights to see. The old Hugger's Brewery was completely destroyed during World War II and later re-erected over the building's ruins.
Expansion of the Old Brewery
The new wing of the Old Brewery, similar in size to the already existing wing, has six levels including three sub-ground levels and a parking lot for up to 1,200 cars.
Shop and relax, too
Outside there are grassy areas with deck chairs so you can sit and relax or listen to entertainment in the evening. Stary Browar is a very beautiful building with a shopping center and lots of places to eat, and you can easily spend an entire day here.
