Ringve Music Museum

Music lovers won't want to miss out on a visit to Norway's national music museum, the Ringve Music Museum. Situated just outside the city center, the museum is located inside an old country estate, surrounded by the beautiful botanical gardens of NTNU University.

Impressive collection

From wind instruments to pianos and string instruments, Ringve Music Museum is home to over 2,000 musical instruments from around the world. The collection consists of traditional Norwegian instruments that were used during hunting, shepherding or special ceremonies. In addition to local instruments, you'll also find an impressive selection of instruments from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America.

Apart from exploring the main collection, the museum offers a variety of fascinating activities for the public. Take a guided musical tour, complete with live music, or explore one of the temporary exhibits for a special experience. Once you've explored the museum, head to Café Victoria for a coffee or tea, and stop in at the gift shop for a unique souvenir.
