Argo Cable Car

Cable cars and entertainment

The Argo Cable Car in Batumi was initiated in 2008 and connects to the Cultural Entertainment Complex. The complex hosts a variety of restaurants, cafes, retail shops, open air halls, and rooftop terraces – offering spectacular views of Batumi, the Black Sea and the surrounding mountains. The construction process of the Cultural Entertainment Complex ARGO was completed in August 2013 and incorporates both the cable car and entertainment center. The cable car is the main connection between the entertainment center and the town. The cable car is an exciting transport while offering the unique opportunity to experience fantastic panoramic views of the town, as they ascend to the Argo's end-point. The entertainment center along with its cable car transport adventure have become one of the most visited tourist attractions in the region, after just a few short years in existence. Upon reaching the entertainment center, guests can indulge in specially prepared Georgian and European cuisine - either on the terrace or inside the dining hall, while overlooking the charming surroundings. The indoor dining hall can seat 60 persons and is ideal for romantic dinners or private parties. During the summer period, the guests can enjoy live music and folk nights presented on the open-air terrace nightly, good weather permitting. The Batumi viewing platform is located at the opposite end of Batumi Aerial tram ropeway. To round up your visit, drop by the The Wine Shop with a wide assortment of Georgian wine and other Spirits that can be purchased as gifts - further enhancing the unforgettable experience one is sure to have, in this incredible region.

The adventure ride

A one-way trip takes approximately 15 minutes. The Argo can transport as many as 500 passengers per hour.

Architectural design

The building design bears a historic meaning and is enriched by the sailing symbols of ARGO, the ship that the mythical character Jason and the Argonauts sailed to Kolchida. The design and construction of the cable cars and entertainment center was undertaken with a uniqueness, enchantment and high level of safety in mind. The Cultural Entertainment Complex ARGO is one of the must-see destinations for tourists, visiting Batumi - stylishly connecting the town with the highland and making for a truly one of a kind experience.
