This was a business trip, selection of the Park Inn made through location, cost and previous reports.
As it transpired, it turned out to be an excellent choice for a three-night stay. Check in was efficient, and I was soon on my way to my room in the Yellow Zone. Opening the door, I was very pleasantly surprised to find I had a suite, so tons of room to spread out and relax with a large living room / kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. All very clean and lots of storage. Even a balcony overlooking Strada Luterana.
The bedroom itself was very comfortable, and with decent curtains I really had no problems sleeping.
Breakfast was served from 06:30 during the week in a comfortable and airy dining room. Lots of choice, and the staff working hard to keep everything stocked.
For dinner, the Sharkia restaurant is a very good option, specialising in eastern med cuisine. I ate there on my final evening and, reviewed separately, is excellent.
Of course, one of the plus points of the Park Inn is access to the facilities offered by the Radisson Blu hotel (but at a cheaper rate), including the outside area and pool, which is quite a pleasant place to relax.
In terms of location, I would assess the Park Inn as being a good choice. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Old Town, which I think is no bad thing as it's way from the noise, hiked hotel rates and other unwelcome distractions, but close enough to enjoy. All the other city centre attractions are within easy walking distance, and the helpful reception staff were on hand to offer maps and advice.
I really enjoyed my stay here; I trip booked for September and will be rebooking.
