For a romantic getaway, we decided to indulge in some exploration of the wilder parts of Europe. Helpful local friends led us to this little-known hotel, on the slopes of a mountain near the royal city of Sinaia. It can be reached by car, on a deliciously tortuous road where you can encounter friendly bears, hoping for a crumb of bread or an apple! The hotel itself is a communist relic, this much is true: but the apartment we rented was very nice, with big bedroom, sunny airy living room and an enormous terrace overlooking misty valleys and rocky crags. Hot water at all hours, clean rooms and bedsheets, absolute silence at night - you could only hear the owls hooting in the forest. We admired the mountain peaks under the silvery moon, enjoyed the peace and shared a bottle of tasty Romanian wine on the terrace... what more can one wish for? Food was delicious, huge portions, good wine, helpful local waiters, very cheap prices. All around there are great places to visit - both by cable car and on foot. Don't choose this place of you want fast wifi, bars and jacuzzis. Do come here if you appreciate unspoilt nature, endless peaks and forests, clear skies and birdsong at sunrise, and the opportunity to spend quality time with your most important "other"!

This is the second year in a row that we come here to ski. The view is breathtaking, the staff is friendly and always happy to help ( like coming with a jeep to pull us out when our car got stuck in the snow) and I noticed facility improvements in many areas. The restaurant is better than many I have visited in town. We got the same room which is 106. It has a balcony and it is quite large 4 people could easily sleep in it. Yes it is an older hotel and yes it has witnessed much history but this is part of its charm. Breakfast offers great selection of everything. GREAT RATES....we look forward to next year!!!

I stayed many times at this hotel! Each time I had something to say to the receptionist! But each-time they solve the issues! The have a good position (at 1400 meters altitude), near the ski resort, near the ski-lift, near the forest, near of everything you need in a leisure escapade! A good point for them it is the fact that they clean the road between the city and them parking area by themselves!!! There are many opportunities to have meals - good meals (international and traditional menu). Inside I found a very good free wireless internet connection - very good for business!!! This winter you'll can find me there!

Been here many times, last time in January last year! The prices are very good even in high winter season. Indeed there are 2 types of rooms, new ones on upper flloors and old ones. To be honest, I preffer the old ones with the white furniture, they are bigger and better. Very nice, immaculate and huge bathrooms. Incredible views of Sinaia and mountains, good service, free parking, free wireless internet, very good breakfast and food generally. We used as well the jacuzzi and sauna, worked perfectly but you need to book it in advance, like this you get it only for yourselves. During winter season, might be difficult to get there by car. You need an SUV or 4x4 transmission. I really reccomend it for families, for winter activities , sightseeing and rest during summer.
