"The drinking water isuue"

2026-06-08

Every night after coming into my room i need to call for bringing the drinking water. During the room cleaning every morning, the complementary water was not provided for most of the days.

"Advantages if you want consistency and a convenient location."

Overall impression The arrival experience is smooth. Reception staff are polite, although not especially warm or engaging. The lobby is pleasant, with a bar and a casual restaurant on the ground floor. The grill restaurant, pool and gym is located on the 8th floor. I would have preferred to make this a 4.5-star review due to my general disappointment with the food. But you can’t leave half stars. Room The rooms are I am guessing industry-standard but I found the room small, particularly for two people sharing a twin room. There is no luggage rack or dedicated place to open suitcases (there’s a low, padded, long bench under the tv but it’s too small for a suitcase), so if you want access to your luggage it ends up a trip-hazard on the floor, or on the beds. I don’t understand how to “travel light” sorry not sorry. Our room was initially prepared as a double rather than the reserved twin, but staff responded very quickly and efficiently to separate the beds. The porter was particularly helpful and provided excellent service with our luggage. The room facilities are generally good: * Enough wardrobe space. * A generous number of clothes hangers. * Iron and ironing board provided. * Small refrigerator. * Complimentary bottled water. * Large television with a good selection of channels. * Pleasant room lighting. * Adequate mirrors, including a full-length mirror. Sleep Quality 9.5/10 I could not fault comfort, mattress or linen. I could have used another pillow but there’s literally a note there saying “if you need anything, like another pillow, call us” and I didn’t call, so, my bad. Properly dark curtains, no noises, slept very well. Bathroom The bathroom is basic chain-hotel fair, extremely clean. Amenities are minimal, with liquid hand wash, liquid body wash, shampoo & conditioner provided (large refillable bottles), but no traditional bar soap or additional toiletries. View Our room on the 4th floor overlooked informal football fields. The view is ok but not remarkable. Food & Beverage Preface this by saying I’m no skinflint and I’m always happy to pay a premium for excellent food. The food wasn’t excellent. Restaurant prices are high by Antananarivo standards. The grill restaurant on the 8th floor appeared expensive, with main courses starting at approximately 60,000 MGA and some fish dishes around 90,000 MGA. The lobby restaurant is similarly priced. During our visit: * Wan-tan Soup: 45,000 MGA * Spaghetti: 55,000 MGA The soup was meh. The spaghetti was ok. Nothing was really nice. * Small Beaufort beer: 18,000 MGA This beer costs less than 4,000 in the supermarket - I’d say overpriced. Breakfast is excellent. The buffet offers a very wide selection including fruits, breads, pastries, salads, charcuterie, bacon and other hot dishes. Eggs are prepared to order, and breakfast staff were particularly friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet price: approximately 100,000 MGA per person. One unusual policy is that guests cannot charge food and beverage purchases to their room unless they have left a deposit with reception. Payment is required immediately. Room Service Room service was fast and efficient. Examples: * Pizza: 35,000 MGA * Shrimp salad starter: 45,000 MGA The pizza was way too soft, with nice salty toppings but totally limp with zero crispness. The shrimp salad was nice. Facilities Gym: The gym is basic. There are several cardio machines and limited fitness equipment, but serious weight-training is either extremely limited or none. Swimming Pool: The pool area is pleasant, although seating is limited. During our visit there were only four poolside chairs available. The pool also appeared surprisingly shallow but good for short laps. Location One of the strongest advantages of the Radisson Blu is its location adjacent to the Tana Waterfront shopping area. Within a short walking distance there is: * A supermarket * Pharmacy * Various retail stores * Restaurants and cafés There is also a BRED bank GAB in the hotel lobby and another GAB nearby at the Waterfront. The main advantages of the Radisson Blu are: 1. Room service availability. 2. Immediate access to the Tana Waterfront shopping and services area. 3. Central location close to shopping, Ivandry, centre of the city. For travellers who value comfort, convenience and nearby amenities, the Radisson Blu has clear strengths.
