Stroll around Stavanger's charming Old Town
Preikestolen and Lysefjorden Cruise
No visit to Western Norway is complete until you have discovered the region's incredible scenery. Stavanger makes an ideal starting point for several day excursions. One of Norway's most famous and visited attractions is Preikestolen, also known in English as Pulpit Rock or the Preacher's Pulpit. It sits 604 meters above the breathtaking Lysefjord and boasts magnificent views. At the top, you will reach a narrow, flat plateau, the sides of which plunge straight into the fjord.
The attraction is not for the faint-hearted, but the breathtaking view makes it worth a visit. This trip is sure to get the adrenaline flowing and attracts around 130,000 visitors between May and August.
With stylish comforts and up-to-date audiovisual equipment, the hotel's modern meeting rooms are ideal for Stavanger events ranging from intimate board meetings to lavish receptions. The largest room can accommodate up to 100 delegates in theater-style seating.
The building also has a highly specialized energy system—making the venue greener than green. The system is modeled on the complex but highly effective solutions found in the process industry. All heating and cooling is controlled by advanced data systems that are set to calculate how much energy is needed to operate cooling compressors and how much energy will be required by the facility in the coming hours.
