Wave hello to the The Maritime Museum - part of the National Museum - awash with everything to do with the sea. The museum features three gantry cranes from the 20th century, plus model vessels including a very rare half-model of Kaiser Wilhelm's yacht, one of the few remnants of the Szczecin plant Vulcan. Shipping fans will be excited by the elevator steam generators, steam engines and steering equipment, as well as navigational devices including 18th-century octants and sextants, plus more modern compasses. The museum's tower offers a vast seascape view if you can cope with the 300 steps up to the top. If the maritime museum isn't enough, the rest of the National Museum is worth a look to learn more about local and Polish history.
