The largest higher education and research institution in Brazil, the University of Sao Paulo is ranked among the best universities worldwide. Founded in 1934, the Universidade de São Paulo is also one of the most important universities in South America, and prides itself in its international outlook and diverse network of students. In total, there are about 94 thousand students enrolled at the university across 48 schools. Visitors can tour the vibrant campus, and can make the most of the university's four museums, which receive over a million visitors a year.
